Accessibility Statement

mottyshai.com is the personal website of Motty Shai and the companion site of the book Me and the Stock Market. I want everyone — including people with disabilities — to be able to use it comfortably and independently.

Conformance level

The site was built to the Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the WCAG guidelines at level AA, and in line with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations. It was tested in October 2026 with an automated checker and by hand for keyboard navigation and display on screens of different sizes.

What has been done

• Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
• A “Skip to main content” link at the start of every page (appears when pressing Tab).
• Proper heading and content structure for screen readers.
• Text alternatives for images.
• Sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
• Text can be enlarged up to 200% without losing content (browser zoom, Ctrl and +).
• Responsive layout for phones, tablets and computers.
• Language and direction set on every page: Hebrew right-to-left, English left-to-right.
• Links that open in a new tab are announced to screen readers.
• No flashing content, no auto-playing sound and no time limits.
• The site respects the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.

Known limitations

• Research papers in PDF format (once added) are published as originally released and may not be fully accessible. On request, I will send the content in an accessible format.
• I am not currently aware of any other accessibility issues on the site.
