About Motty

Motty Shai is an independent stock-market researcher and programmer. In 2002 he built his own backtesting system, and from the question “by what standard should a strategy be judged?” grew the line of research on which the book rests.

Since 2025 the research has been published as a series of papers on SSRN and Zenodo.
